Thank you very much for all of your good wishes. They made my day. I didn't tell you about it, but Vincent and I are taking a little break in Germany at the moment. One week at the sea near Rostock, a town in the east of Germany. We're happy to spend some time alone and somewhere else than the winery.
Saturday we were in the town where I grew up though, and had a great birthday party. My best friend Lena and her husband just had a 30eth birthday, too, so we celebrated together.
Saturday night was splendid, yesterday was hard. One big hangover. I wasn't able to speak until about two in the afternoon. My sister tried to hand me the phone at around one, but I had it the wrong way and didn't understand why I couldn't hear clearly what Lena wanted to tell me.
Hanna almost toppled over laughing.
When I could finally stand up and eat something I still couldn't talk a lot, so my sister and our brother Daniel had bets going on what my first word would be. 'Mama' ?
It should have been an entire sentence, at least that's what I intended, but they only understood 'granola' which they found hilarious.
Vincent was fine, much to my astonishment. It turns out he was stationed right beside a pack of non-alcoholic beers. He thought he was drinking and seemed to feel woozy, but the next day he felt really nifty. Somebody had to, I guess.
All of you whom I still owe an email, please bear with me. I'll be back at the winery next Monday.
Cheers to you all, and hope you are fine.
