Slowly, slowly, in the moments when there is nothing to do or when I'm too tired to do anything else, this blanket comes together. I have finished about half of it now.
Sometimes I'm tempted to knit something else at the same time, and I do have a sock handy to take with me whenever I go away from home or when I want to listen and look while I knit, but it feels good to just work on one big project all the rest of the time.
You know my latest theory on why boys usually don't knit ?
Well, it's all in the genes and can be explained historically: When Neanderthal started to knit he found that his feet were so big it took him ages to finish one sock. And his sweaters weren't any better. So he left all the knitting to the Missus who, after she finished knitting socks and jumpers for herself and the kids, took pity on Mister Neanderthal and knit him some socks, too. And a sweater.
