I wish you all a blessed and happy Christmas.
This is the last advent calendar post for this year, tomorrow I'll give away the last advent gift. I thank you all for being here during this pre-Christmas time and I do hope to hear from all of you ever so often in the future.
Tonight's menu ? I think my sister is making veal in a mustard-fig sauce, my mother has prepared the entré (something fishy. It smelled like market day in the house when I got up this morning), and I got ambitious and prepared a threesome of desserts. Pana cotta (seen above just seconds before it boiled over and covered the whole counter-top) with caramelized oranges, brownies with nuts and a Grapefruit Campari granita. Who cares about veal anyways.
The house is bustling with activity at the moment. My father seems to wrap his gifts (classic cracker shape, if I had to venture a guess), my brother is ironing the shirt he intends to wear (! ironing !), my sister is preparing the main course and my mother is laying the table, I think. She quieted down after I decorated the tree (she had nightmares for a week now. Dreamed the tree wasn't decorated, and there was no food on the table. Every time she tried to open the freezer to take out some last minute meal the nasty thing moved and threatened her.). We'll be off to Church in an hour and then the festivities start.
Emily, you won yesterday's gift.Merry Christmas.
